Graduated Dipper, 1000mL, 12´L Handle
Longer-handled Graduated Dippers make taking samples from large tanks easier. Made of lightweight, durable high-density polyethylene. Each Dipper has a beaker with dual pouring spouts, marked graduations and an easy-grip handle. 12´L model has a two-piece handle that allows deeper dipping and yet breaks down for easier shipping. Choose from 3 handle lengths and 500 or 1000mL capacities.

Our company uses this dipper for collecting water samples from various outfall pipes and storm drains that are otherwise inaccessible. Our previous make-shift version involved a lot of hose clamps; which would become very difficult to work with after repeated sampling events. Because we are sampling from different outfalls and to avoid one more step of decontaminating the 1000-mL bucket between sampling events; we place clean bottles in the bucket to collect directly into the bottles. The bucket is large enough to hold a 1-L amber or poly bottle. The pole is very sturdy and plastic material is not flimsy. It does seem like it would be very easy to decontaminate if needed. I was also impressed upon receiving the dipper that it is made in the US. It is fixed at an angle compared to our makeshift version which is a straight pole. We were concerned that the angle would make some sampling points difficult; but its still just as easy as with our old straight pole; since the bucket is high enough to safely hold a bottle even if we need to tip the dipper further to collect a sample. Overall; this works very well for our needs and has made our routine outfall sampling events safer; as it allows us to access outfall points without trying to overreach or potentially lose bottles out of a hose clamp.
